Describe your job in one sentence
I’m responsible for managing Teneo’s financial actions: from cash management to reporting on financial results and strategic planning.
Which city/county do you live in or near?
I live between Liverpool and Manchester.
What one thing outside work do you enjoy doing most?
This is a tough decision between two things: cooking is a big passion of mine and I love cooking new things for family and friends; I also love exercise, whether that be simply walking the dog or going to the gym. If I had to pick one I’d go with exercise!
Who do you admire in the public eye and why?
This is a bit of a left-field answer, and apologies to those outside the UK, because you’ve probably never heard of him…Kevin Sinfield.
He’s an ex-professional athlete whose childhood friend and teammate was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). Since then, he has done a number of sporting challenges to raise money and awareness for MND.
What one thing can’t you live without and why?
This is a cheesy answer, but I’ll say my kids, who bring me an equal measure of frustration and joy!
Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us.
Teneo was my first job in Finance as a Finance Administrator after completing my AAT studies while working in sales. Since then (Nov 2014), I have worked to become Chartered, and I have progressed through various roles from Management Accountant, Finance Manager, and now recently to CFO. The amount that Teneo has helped me to learn and the experience I have gained here is immeasurable.
What has been your greatest accomplishment while working at Teneo?
I think my greatest accomplishment relates to my professional growth. The progression my career has taken in Teneo in the last eight years is something I’m extremely proud of.
What do you like best about your job at Teneo?
I love how varied the role is: one minute, I’m looking at our cash position, the next French tax! No two days are the same, and although there is some plate spinning involved, it certainly keeps the role interesting.
What three words best describe the culture at Teneo?
Nurturing. Trusting. Challenging.
